Continuing its surging growth pattern, a large new neighborhood in northern Mount Pleasant reported that first quarter sales bested forecasts.
The Carolina Park master planned community counted more than 40 new home sales from January through March, says Brian Keels, marketing director of Carolina Park Development LLC.
"We had a terrific year in 2013 and are hoping we can sustain the momentum we built," Keels says. "If these first few months are any indication, 2014 is going to be even more successful for Carolina Park."
The marketing chief cites a couple of reasons for the strong sales pace: "the successful pre-selling of two new phases featuring semi-custom homes, as well as the positive increase of sales in Riverside, the community's custom home neighborhood."
Keels says many sales this year took place in the development's third and fourth construction stages, as builders Ryland Homes, David Weekley Homes and Saussy Burbank raised houses.
The sales total includes 14 new custom homes changing hands in Riverside - pushing overall deals there to close to 50. The neighborhood opened a year ago with home prices starting in the $500,000s.
"What we're offering in terms of home styles, features and options; build quality; amenities; and, of course, our location have really set us apart," Keels says. New homes in Carolina Park start in the mid $300,000s.
"Homebuyers appreciate that our diverse range of floor plans appeal to everyone from young families looking for room to grow to empty-nesters interested in primarily first-floor living," Keels says. "They love the homes and feel of this community, and they want to be part of that."
Carolina Park works with seven leading homebuilders. They are Ryland and David Weekley in the semi-custom sections; Sabal Homes, Cline Homes, Structures Building Co. and The Burton Co. in Riverside; and Saussy Burbank in both sectors.
"With seven builders, we are able to appeal to a much broader audience than another community with only a single builder," Keels says. "We find that the high level of customization and quality a buyer expects is more evident with each completed home."
