More than 500 Carolina Park residents came out on Thursday, July 14 to celebrate summer – and to commemorate the official opening of the new Outdoor Pavilion at the Residents Club.
The annual summer Pizza Pool Party is always a family favorite, attracting kids of all ages for an evening of fun around the pool. And make no mistake, the pizza (from Matt’s Pizza Department – mmmm!) was both plentiful and delicious, as were the cool desserts from King of Pops. On top of that, everyone enjoyed the music of local favorite Mark Shuler, one of Charleston’s best-loved singer/songwriters. But for many, the real highlight of the evening was having a chance to explore and enjoy Carolina Park’s newest amenity.
The new Outdoor Pavilion, located near the pool, tennis courts and future Great Lawn, is an open-sided shelter featuring a huge outdoor fireplace, ample seating, picnic tables, a catering kitchen and rest rooms. The facility is a perfect compliment to the other Residents Club amenities, expanding the capacity and providing an ideal location for organized gatherings, casual picnics, or just enjoying time with family and friends.
The Outdoor Pavilion will not be the last Residents Club amenity. Soon, the new Pavilion, Jr. Olympic pool, playground and tennis courts will be joined by the much-anticipted Great Lawn, the development of which is already underway.
Thanks to everyone who helped to plan and organize the event, and to the hundreds of residents who took the time to come out and share an evening of fun and celebration.
