The younger residents of Carolina Park have a lot to look forward to over the next 18 months! First, there will be the thrill that comes with watching bulldozers and heavy equipment clear the way for construction, and then...the construction itself as brick-by-brick the newest elementary school in Mount Pleasant becomes a reality. Carolina Park Elementary School is slated to open in the fall of 2017, fulfilling a promise we made to our residents that an elementary school would be built right here in our community. Mt. Pleasant's newest K-5 elementary school, situated across from Wando High School on land donated to the Town by Carolina Park, will have an estimated capacity of 900 students (expandable to 1,200), and enable kids living in Carolina Park to walk or ride bikes to and from school each day like so many of us did "back in the old days!"
The groundbreaking at Carolina Park Elementary is just the latest exciting news from Carolina Park. Mt. Pleasant's newest EMS/Fire Station is fast approaching completion right here on property. Our new Outdoor Pavilion is under construction at the Residents Club - adjacent to our Jr. Olympic pool, playground and tennis courts - and should be completed by mid-summer. We've also introduced gorgeous new neighborhoods in both The Village and Riverside, and recently announced pre-sales of the latest phase of Townhomes. All in all, there's never been a more exciting time to call Carolina Park home!
